Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken” (Eccl. 4:12, NKJV).
I think this Bible verse describes our church well. We are only three (not counting children) but three feels so much stronger than two. When we were praying together two weeks ago, Sarah heard the Lord say that we needed to pray specifically for our church every day that week. So, every morning for seven days I would pray, and then God would deposit thoughts into my mind. One of the thoughts that he gave me turned into a short sermon, which I shared this past Sunday. After sharing it, Sarah and Robbie both said it really impacted them, and our guest also seemed to enjoy it. The prayer time was also encouraging. We all got words to share with our guest, and I believe the Holy Spirit was active and impacting her life. She is a person we have been praying for God to send, someone who knows Jesus and believes in Him, but wants to know Him better.
Unless otherwise noted, all biblical passages referenced are in the New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982).
